Dr. Kiva James is a native of the beautiful island of Jamaica. She moved to Florida to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian. Since earning her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2006, Dr. James has had multiple small animal practice experiences over several years including emergency, mobile, in home end of life care and relief veterinary positions, her special interest is pet hospice and end of life care.
Dr. James first started working at WOVH in 2010. She took some time off to care for her newest born son and then returned to join the WOVH family in 2017. She is quite busy both in and out of the clinic keeping up with her 3 children’s extra curricular activities as well as caring for her energetic pit bull mix and 2 cats. She enjoys outdoor, sporty activities with her husband and children, as well as exploring her creative side with cake decorating and crafting.
